I recently said farewell to my win95 system running PCLogbook from Cressi to read my Cressi Archimede (I) logs. I currently run Subsurface on my Linux Ubuntu system.
I can see the Seiko clothes pin USB connector as: Bus 001 Device 012: ID 04b8:0522 Seiko Epson Corp. USB-Serial Controller I can see Subsurface connecting, but no records are retrieved. I tried different other computers to no avail. Is Cressi Archimede supported, or can support be added? Or can I modify settings from, e.g. PID to 0521, or use some other settings?
The Cressi Archimede isn't on the list of supported devices because so far nobody confirmed it works. It's indeed a Seiko based dive computer and thus the most likely candidate for a compatible model is either the Cressi Edy or the Zeagle N2ition3. So try selecting those models. Based on the USB PID (0x0522), I guess the Zeagle N2ition3 has the best chance.
Enable the "Save libdivecomputer logfile" and "Save libdivecomputer dumpfile" checkboxes in the subsurface download dialog and send me both files. Or just the log file if the download fails.
On Linux the PC interface should be recognized automatically by the Prolific usb-serial driver. On Windows this is very difficult due to the non-standard USB VID/PID. Long time ago (Windows XP era), I made instructions for patching the driver:

But I doubt those will still work on more recent Windows versions.
